Operation Knightfall

A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY...

OPERATION KNIGHTFALL!

In the month since Order 66 was issued by the evil Emperor Palpatine, the galaxy has been turned upside down! The Clone armies that once fought to liberate planets in the name of Democracy now call themselves Stormtroopers and crush all before them. Pockets of rebellion are sought out and made examples of for any who would dare oppose the Emperor.

The Jedi Order has been reduced to a tenth of its size and the survivors of the Jedi Purge flee into exile. Reports that the entire Jedi Council are dead are broadcast everywhere and the smoke from the burned shell of the Jedi Temple still rise into the Coruscant sky. But it seems nowhere is safe for a mysterious new figure has emerged to lead the hunt. He is a figure in black armor wielding a red lightsaber, and with the Force as his ally.

A handful of Jedi dared to challenge this Darth Vader. None survived. He is relentless, deadly, and backed up by the 501st Stormtrooper Legion.

As the galaxy attempts to adapt to the end of the Clone Wars and the fall of the Jedi Knights a small convoy of starships cruises for the Outer Rim planet of Terridion. Aboard, a surviving Jedi Knight cruises toward her destiny.

OUT OF CHARACTER

The Star Wars campaign takes place one month after the events of Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The player characters are on a convoy of ships heading for the planet Terridion. Individual reasons for that will be discussed.

Jedi characters can be either Padawans or Knights and are marked for death. Vader or one of his agents will come for you eventually. What you do in the game will decide if you survive.

Force Adept characters might be sympathetic to the plight of the Jedi or perhaps seek to incorporate Jedi into their own belief system. While not on Vader's radar, it is unlikely he will allow Force Adepts to operate freely once he knows of their existence.

Non Force using characters should be at least sympathetic of the Jedi problem. If you play a mercenary who will turn in his mother for the right bounty it is doubtful you will do well in the game. You do not have to be on the Jedi side though. You just can't be actively trying to destroy them.

THE STORY

There are two stories going on at once. There is the overall galactic story and there is the story of your band of characters. They will intersect but this is not just a game about the survival of the Jedi. There will be crime and misbehaving (to put it in Firefly terms), mystery and adventure. Where the game will go depends on you. When you write up your character story I will pull seeds of it out to write the adventure. We will also spend some time together deciding what sort of story we want to play.

The question of continuity is one I wrestled with. Can you change the movies? Can you duel Darth Vader and defeat him years before Episode IV. The short answer is yes and no. I'll use Vader as an example. You can kill Darth Vader but to do so is nearly impossible. Not only is he massively more powerful than your entire group combined, he is backed up by the most elite unit of Stormtroopers in the Empire. These are the guys Ben Kenobi was talking about when he told Luke Skywalker about their legendary accuracy. Anything that will change the overall outcome of the movies will be ridiculously hard to accomplish. That doesn't mean you can't win. You can defeat Vader, even "killing" him. He's been "dead" before and survived.

You can survive into the original trilogy era though. Perhaps Ben Kenobi is not the only Jedi that Luke Skywalker encounters. Maybe Han Solo has an old buddy that knows his ship as well as he does. It is all up to you.
